Theresa Andersson

Theresa Andersson moved from Sweden to New Orleans at the age of 18 for one reason: Love. Her love for the city and its sound prevailed long after the initial love relation came to an end, and Theresa is now a well known artist in her home town. She has played with New Orleans legends such as Allen Toussaint, The Neville Brothers, The Meters and Betty Harris. She has also performed together with Stevie Wonder in front of 40 000 people.

During summer she traditionally toured Sweden with her “one-woman-show”, her longest summer tour ever.

On tour she brought material from her praised album Hummingbird, go! and a live-DVD recorded in New Orleans: Theresa Andersson Live at Le Petit Theatre.

still success on YouTube is nothing new to Theresa.

A clip from 2009 showing her using a live loop and playing all the instruments by herself in her kitchen, quickly became a huge success on YouTube.

That performance is similar to her live concerts, where she plays violin, drums, guitar, dulcimer and sings harmonies with herself – with a little help from a battery of sampling pedals.
