Jeanette Lindström

She is one of Sweden’s leading singers and composers. In January she won a Swedish Grammy for best jazz album of the year, Attitude & Orbit Control.

She has that ability to set the imagination of the listener in movement - with her voice, her music as well as with her words. Her sixth solo album Attitude & Orbit Control is hard proof. A space odyssey of sorts, interpersonal as well as interstellar. Micro- as well as macrocosmic forces at play. Fellow travelers include co-writing guest vocalist Robert Wyatt, a new band and new co-producer and drummer Magnus Öström of e.s.t. as well as lyric contributor Sidsel Endresen.

Jeanette recorded her debut CD, Another Country, in 1995, after being awarded the “Jazz In Sweden”-prize. She has always been an artist keen to tour, and her travels have since brought her to many parts of the world, the Nordic countries as well as France, Belgium, UK, Japan and Canada. Composing and performing her own music and lyrics has always played a central role in Jeanette’s musicianship. In 2003 she recorded the album Walk, and in 2005 In The Middle Of This Riddle was released. These two albums consist mainly of her own compositions, and were unanimously praised by both press and audiences. The same goes for her latest release Attitude & Orbit Control, also comprised mainly of original material.
