Anders Widmark

Anders Widmark is a two time Grammy winner in Sweden and has also been awarded two gold albums. He is now back with his new album Visor, with personal interpretations of traditional Swedish folklore songs and hymns. On the album, Anders is accompanied by drummer Peter Bylin and bass player Johan Lindbom. “The process was easier this time since I didn’t make any hard efforts to find lost songs. I simply let my memories lead the way. Memories of harmonies, memories from school or memories of somebody else’s memories. Calaisa has made a journey many only dream about doing. In 2004 the four unknown girls went to Nashville and got themselves a record contract with Universal Nashville, the world's most successful record label. They recorded a million dollar album in Nashville and was launched as the new young Swedish Dixie Chicks in the United States. The story of their unlikely journey became national news in Sweden and the United States. Hazelius Hedin – Folk Star Duo Two of Sweden’s most established folk musicians make up the duo Hazelius Hedin. They sing and play their Swedish folk music with passion, rare ease and unquestionable presence - it’s impossible to remain unaffected. Esbjörn Hazelius and Johan Hedin both grew up in the south of Sweden, where the traditional couple dance slängpolska is prevailing. But they search all over Sweden for their repertoire, which includes everything from medieval ballads, sailor songs, love ballads and instrumental dance tunes. Moreover, Hazelius and Hedin pass on the tradition through their own compositions. Oh Harry

It was back in 1992 that fourteen year old Harriet Ohlsson realized she wanted to be a story teller. Not exactly sure of how this would happen, she tried theatre, learnt how to play the oboe, the flute, the double bass and for a long time the saxophone was her main instrument. For several years she toured all over Sweden with the klezmerband Chutzpah, started a couple of different bands and ended up at the Academy of Music studying Balkan music. Outside school she began to sing and eventually this turned out to be her greatest joy and main occupation. For five years, from 2004 through 2009, she interpreted the story of metal music as lead singer and arranger with Hellsongs, the lounge metal band.
